Projects

Graphic Communication & Spatial Analysis: Vintage Train Engine

January 2023 - May 2024

  • Utilized Aras Innovator for Product Management System to support design and collaboration
  • Employed Siemens NX system for modeling designs, drawings, and parts creation
  • Throughout the semester, I created different parts of an old train engine for a final project
  • These parts were then put into a big assembly where I had to constrain them together in a way so that the engine would move but not fall apart

Conveyor Belt Sorter: Nic Nac

Summer 2024

  • Led the design and development of an innovative conveyor belt sorting system, optimizing efficiency and accuracy for a nicotine company called Nic Nac, who wanted a system to see if their stickers are stuck on currently on their tins
  • Implemented a cost-effective design approach, balancing performance with budget constraints that the company gave us
  • Integrated two distinct conveyor types, including a vacuum conveyor for handling upside-down items for photos to be taken from the bottom of the tins to look at sticker placement
  • Reduced camera requirements from three to two by researching and implementing a Cognex camera capable of capturing images in two planes simultaneously
  • Collaborated with multiple teams to align mechanical design with electrical and software components
  • Developed detailed CAD models and technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly purposes which was then used to show the client the designs during the final presentation
